It is hard to know exactly how much of what is seen of R E T T E is really her, and how much of it is fake. For she is an actress. She changes her mood, persona and attitude as quickly as a stallion changes his favourite mare. Why does she do this? To get what she wants…to play people. Don’t get her wrong, she is a kind loyal mare with a strong belief in what is right. However, she also wants to make the most of herself and tends to try and make herself seem better to others than she really is. Under it all, she is terribly insecure and a bit lonely. But no one would ever guess that unless they got close to her.
If your looking for one of those unbelievably histories where there have been countless deaths, rapings, beatings from the son/daughter of the best horse in the world…then you will be disappointed. Not every horse can have come from such a colourful world. That is not to say R E T T E’s past is not intresting.
She grew up as foal to two lovely equines, both good as gold and respected members of the herd. However as a youth she rarely spoke as she was shy, and this made others think she was boring…and even a mute. She got ignored and began to feel that no one liked her for who she was. That’s when the specks of shadow began creeping in. She started acting up when she turned 2, trying different characters on and suddenly everyone wanted to listen to her…so she did not care that she was fake – they liked her. By the time she turned three she had become a huge flirt, as this had always brought her the attention she never got as a filly. Unfortunately she ended up as a mother as a young three year old which she had not expected, but even that did not change her need to put on a mask and be someone knew. Her own son decided to stay with her previous harem, but she craved more out of life so on his second birthday she bid him farewell and set off to become a strong part of a herd and make something of herself. Or rather…whichever self they liked best.
The dawn proceeded without any interruptions as a few creatures here and there were stirring. Its pink tinted rays arrived to get the day started, reaching up from the horizon to taint the skies. Slowly the pale rose hues were joined by peaches and bright oranges as the hidden globe began to rise to welcome the world to a new cycle. The first songs of birds were herd overhead in their sweet melodies which chorused the rustling foliage. The stage was all set, lighting was now achieved all that was needed was an audience.
Winds barged through skeleton fingered trees, knocking leaves into joining the opening dance as they cart wheeled through the crisp morning air. And now for the star.
Slow, deliberate steps were heard crunching over the frozen carpet. Dirt encrusted talons proudly walked towards the glowing sun ahead sending echoing hoof beats into the atmosphere. Long elegant columns escorted the dove through the mass of undergrowth and trees on her quest to find a home. The performance was starting.
The lithe body of an enchanting mare was seen as she gracefully drifted through the sleepy realm. Her body was burly with muscles yet she was still svelte in size. She was not the cleanest of equines at the moment, having flown through a muddy bog as a short cut and yet still…there was something about her. A sense of peace and tranquillity followed her, and yet it did not seem to suit her. There was something rebellious in the pit of her twin occuli which screamed it was all a lie. For as beautiful as the damsel was…it was all a well planned act to get what she wanted. And right now, that was a stallion to look after her
(sorry its so short, its in progress)
